Event insurance primarily covers third-party bodily injury and property damage claims arising from your event. It protects you financially if a guest, vendor, or attendee is injured or property is damaged and you’re held liable.
Understanding what’s covered, and what’s not, helps ensure you’re properly protected.
What most policies include:
Optional coverage may include:
Typically excluded:
Alcohol-related incidents are only covered if host liquor liability or equivalent coverage is added to your policy. Event Helper includes this coverage at no additional charge. Many venues require this if alcohol is served.
No. Vendors must carry their own liability insurance and provide separate COIs to the venue. Event Helper offers vendors one day or multiple day policies as well.
Does event insurance cover guests fighting?
Generally no. Coverage may apply depending on circumstances, but intentional acts are typically excluded.
Does it cover weather-related damage?
Weather related damage to property may be covered, but cancellations are not.
Does it cover bounce houses or inflatables?
No. While bounces houses or inflatables are permissible at an event, any injuries or damages related to them are excluded.
Does it cover alcohol served by bartenders?
Yes. Host liquor is included at no additional charge and covers acts the host is responsible for. The bartender would need their own retail liquor liability coverage (selling or professionally serving alcohol) for their own acts.
Does it cover volunteers?
Often yes, depending on policy terms.
Event Helper offers customizable event insurance with instant COIs.
