We are looking for a hardworking in-house PHP expert to join our 3-5 person software development team in Grass Valley, CA. See below for compensation, background & tech stack details.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Earning opportunities: $45,000-$55,000

Our Company

Our Company, TheEventHelper.com is the US leader in online event insurance. Event Insurance is a short term insurance policy purchased to cover weddings, birthdays, concerts & 400 other types of events. Most of the time the venue where the event is being held requires this type of policy. Hundreds of people purchase insurance through our customer service team and website everyday. We leverage technology to make the process easy for everyone, from our customers to our internal staff. All sales and company management is done online through our software. We don't have any on premise servers or infrastructure running our business.

Over the years we have been asked to provide our software as a service to other online insurance programs. We have spent the last 2 years building a hyper-customizable platform to manage and issue policies for all types of insurance. We are currently migrating the first companies to this new software platform. In coming years we are going to be hard at work adding additional features & customers to this new platform while maintaining our lead in the event insurance market.

What you can expect working for us:

  • You will be a part of a hardworking team of 3-5 people.
  • Working on adding features or fixing bugs in our backend API via pull-requests.
  • Working on adding integrations to our platform from third-party APIs & databases.
  • Using automated testing to verify that your bug fix or feature is built to spec.
  • Using our project management software(Asana) to keep everyone on the team up to date with your project progress.
  • Participate in daily 5 min meetings where everyone states the work they are doing today & any challenges they are facing.
  • Gaining real-world experience with new and emerging technology to further your career.
