Greek Formals & Fundraisers Now Eligible!

November 17, 2025

We’re pleased to announce that Event Helper has expanded its special event insurance offering to include certain Greek-affiliated events. While these events require a bit of additional underwriting, we’ve kept the process fast, simple, and straightforward, so chapters can get the protection they need without hassle.

What’s Now Eligible

Event Helper is currently accepting non-house, non-Rush Greek-affiliated events, such as:

  • Formals and semiformal dances held at rented venues;
  • Philanthropy and fundraising events;
  • Banquets, award nights, or off-premises chapter celebrations; and
  • University-approved Greek events held at third-party facilities.

These events represent the majority of the social and philanthropic activities Greek organizations hold each year....and now they can be insured quickly and affordably.

What’s Still Not Eligible

Some Greek-related activities continue to fall outside our underwriting guidelines. At this time, we cannot insure:

  • Any event held at a fraternity or sorority house;
  • Any event where alcohol is not handled by a licensed and insured third party;
  • Any event related to Rush, recruitment, pledging, or initiation; and
  • Any event connected to Greek Week competitions.

Why This Matters

Greek organizations host hundreds of formals and philanthropic events each year... and most reputable venues require proof of event liability coverage.  This expansion allows both venues and Greek organizations to confidently move forward knowing there’s an easy, compliant option for securing coverage for approved Greek events.
